Pushkinskaya Street Loft Apartment

The apartment on Pushkinskaya Street, according to the most common scenario, was to become one of the classic objects. But this did not happen: having received carte blanche from the customers during the development of the project, we decided to break away from the classical tradition and create a fantastic loft - bright in visual image, incredibly complex in design solutions, functional in the everyday life of a young owner and suitable for noisy youth parties.

The apartment of a small area of 67 m2 had hidden potential - high ceilings of 3.8 m, which made it possible to arrange a mezzanine floor with a variable height of 2.2 and 1.6 m above the service rooms of the pantry and bathroom. There is a working and lounge area with soft sofas. The ground floor space, with the exception of the bedroom, formed a large loft with living and kitchen areas separated by a console that protrudes from the wall and serves as a bar counter. The same constructive principle formed the basis of the cantilever staircase, the steps of which seem to hang in the air.

The atmosphere of the loft is supported by finishing solutions: imitation of concrete with traces of formwork on the walls and ceilings, brick, barn board above the kitchen area, painting with crayons, spotlights, “rusted metal” tiles in the bathroom ... Add to this bright colors, retro-style furniture and original design techniques that turn a wall with a window into a closet-library with an additional seating area in the bedroom, and a shelving unit in the living room into a countertop support in the working area on the mezzanine floor.
