"New Star" Apartment

Architects often have to be not only specialists in organizing space, but also psychologists, and here is just such a case. The customer wanted to update everything, so he bought an apartment in a new residential complex built in a great location, on Pesochnaya Embankment of Kamenny Island, and held a closed competition among several architectural and design studios in St. Petersburg. The studio of the Zhilin brothers became the winner.

The architects thought out the space of the apartment to the smallest detail. The kitchen, dining room and living room were combined into a common space, which occupies more than a third of the total area (63 m²) and is designed for different life scenarios. Here it is possible to receive a large company of guests or spend a pleasant evening all alone; have a quick breakfast at the bar or set the table for dinner. The master bedroom with a bathroom is maximally isolated from the common area; the second bathroom is made walk-through so that it can be accessed from the guest bedroom and from the hallway.

"Smart Home" allows customer to control all engineering systems from his smartphone, change the lighting, temperature and humidity level in any of the rooms, turn on the TV or background music, and control the security of the apartment.

Mikhail and Nikolai Zhilin joke that the most important thing in the interior is the view from the window. Here it is beautiful. But seriously, the architects say, a lot is important: a competent planning solution, a calm, relaxing color scheme, and a functional filling of the apartment, which allows its owner to keep everything under control. And the mood. Feeling that life is developing correctly, it is not at all necessary to start it from scratch.
